We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic II to join our team in Detroit, MI. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to a variety of vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, trailers, vans, and forklifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical system problems.
- Overhaul and repair motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and electrical systems.
- Manage inventory and ordering of parts.
- Act as a mentor to junior mechanics and provide guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic on a fleet.
- Ability to work on all types of vehicles.
- Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Able to supply own set of tools.
- Willing and able to acquire necessary certifications and licenses within the first year of employment.
