Job Title: Computed Tomography Technologist

Froedtert South is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for operating department-specific equipment, performing routine and special exams/procedures, and ensuring maximum equipment performance and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate all department-specific equipment associated with the performance of routine and special exams/procedures
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize and report equipment malfunctions
  • Continuously follow maintenance protocols to ensure maximum equipment performance and minimize downtime
  • Utilize proper protocols and positioning techniques to maximize image quality and minimize the need for additional imaging
  • Administer medications in a timely manner, safely, and in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department
  • Assists Radiologists/physicians with special image-guided procedures
  • Ensure the exam room is set up according to department/physician protocols; sterile technique is required; pre-procedures questionnaires/consent forms/medical history and lab work are reviewed, and documentation is accurate
  • Must be able to move patients on stretchers, in wheelchairs, and on tables
  • Must appropriately label images, document pertinent clinical information, and use independent judgment to determine steps necessary to complete each study
  • Must be able to perform intravenous injections of contrast material according to examination protocols
  • Must assist with the technical department coverage 24 hours per day, seven days per week as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree: Graduate of an accredited certification program in Radiologic Technology
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) registered in Radiography
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) – CT (preferred or required within 1 year of hire)
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend the English language fluently
