The Department of Information Technology Services at West Virginia University is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join their team.

This role involves providing advanced technical support, overseeing network operations, and leading projects related to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization's network infrastructure.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for leading the installation, configuration, and maintenance of complex network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.

They will also oversee the setup and maintenance of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), diagnose and resolve advanced network issues, and utilize advanced network monitoring tools to ensure network performance, reliability, and security.

The Network Engineer will lead network-related projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network technicians.

They will maintain comprehensive network documentation, develop and enforce network standards, and implement advanced network security measures.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, substantial experience in network operations, and proficiency in advanced network protocols and technologies.

They will also have strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues, and expertise in network security principles.

The Network Engineer will be an excellent leader and communicator, with the ability to mentor and guide junior technicians and foster their professional growth.
