At Deep Lagoon, we're committed to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests. As a key member of our team, the Host will play a vital role in ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.

Job Summary:

The Host is responsible for warmly greeting and seating our guests, as well as delivering exceptional service throughout their entire dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Warmly greet and seat guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere and setting the tone for a memorable dining experience.
  2. Take guest information and provide accurate wait times, ensuring that guests are informed and engaged throughout their wait.
  3. Interact with waiting guests, including children, to ensure that their wait is pleasant and enjoyable.
  4. Run the electronic seating system to ensure server rotation is maintained and guests are seated efficiently.
  5. Present menus to guests, inform them of specials, and introduce the server by name, ensuring a seamless transition to the dining experience.
  6. Communicate with managers to inform them of business fluctuations and provide updates on guest traffic.
  7. Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables, pre-busing and busing tables as needed to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  8. Take drink or appetizer orders as needed, ensuring that guests' needs are met promptly and efficiently.
  9. Maintain filled water and tea pitchers, regularly touring the restaurant to interact with guests and provide refills to seated guests.
  10. Interact regularly with seated guests to attend to any needs that the server may have missed or the guest requires.
  11. Clean, organize, and stock menus at the host stand, maintaining an adequate supply of Kid's menus and crayons for waiting and seated guests.
  12. Answer phone calls and respond to questions concerning the menu and restaurant, providing accurate and helpful information to guests.
  13. Take and fill to-go orders if applicable, directing to-go guests to the appropriate section of the restaurant.
  14. Maintain clean restrooms throughout the shift, checking them every 15 minutes and sweeping the front area frequently.
  15. Create a friendly and inviting welcome for all job applicants, maintaining a good supply of applications and other hiring paperwork at the host area.
  16. Ensure that management is aware of all waiting applicants and other appointments, providing updates and support as needed.
  17. Upon departure, hold the door for guests and warmly thank them for their patronage, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
