Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care by assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and prepare procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment for sterilization and distribution.
  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Disassemble and decontaminate carts and equipment, following Universal Precautions.
  • Sterilize, disinfect, and package durable medical equipment and instruments.
  • Transport sterilized items to the floor and maintain accurate records of instrument and equipment inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with Central Processing staff and Surgery Charge Nurse regarding equipment and instrument inventory status.
  • Respond to emergency situations by ensuring timely delivery of equipment and instruments to the Operating Room.
  • Provide on-the-job training to newly hired associates in the department.
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of eTeam Inc. and adhere to service behavior standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
