Key Responsibilities
  • Create comprehensive and precise cost estimates for major civil construction endeavors, including roadways, bridges, and environmental undertakings.
  • Examine project blueprints, specifications, and associated documents to ascertain scope and requirements.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs, cost evaluations, and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Work in conjunction with project leaders and engineering teams to collect and assess project information.
  • Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring adherence to all specifications and timelines.
  • Assess subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate costs, and select vendors to optimize project expenditures.
  • Perform cost analysis to uncover potential savings and value engineering opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain cost databases, historical cost records, and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, particularly in heavy civil projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, cost estimation methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for large-scale projects.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex project data and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
