THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS
  • As an Estimator, you will prepare, assess, and present detailed estimates for specific project proposals.
  • Provide estimating support and guidance to projects, develop conceptual estimates, and conduct cost analyses.
  • Assist in developing discipline/service estimators, updating historical databases, and formulating departmental procedures.
  • Guide others on project/program level tasks.
  • Engage in estimating functions and workflows within a collaborative team setting.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret contract documents (specifications, drawings, and reference materials) to create thorough, accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Identify bid qualifications, risks, and assumptions, along with quantities and pricing.
  • Ensure estimates and proposals adhere to company standards and practices.
  • Participate in estimate reviews and presentations to department leads.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the pre-bid phase, including soliciting bids and gathering constructability feedback.
  • Manage comparisons between self-performed estimates and subcontractor proposals.
  • Analyze subcontractor and material quotes for compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with prequalification and proposal functions.
  • Prepare value engineering solutions, including cost, schedule, and benefits for the owner.
  • Draft responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Provide rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimates and phasing schedules.
  • Understand and adhere to verbal and written instructions, including safety protocols and equipment usage.
  • Work during standard operating hours to organize and complete tasks within specified deadlines.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
