Position Overview:

As a Systems Administrator specializing in Linux at Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi), you will play a pivotal role in supporting our intelligence community clients by providing responsive and efficient technical assistance, concentrating on data management, tools, and advanced technologies.

Your responsibilities will include the development and maintenance of software applications that are underpinned by a self-sustaining cloud infrastructure, characterized by a significant big-data presence.

On a daily basis, Systems Administrators will engage in monitoring system performance and addressing any platform outages, whether they involve hardware or software components.

Additionally, you will interact with users of the Openstack Cloud Platform through various communication channels, assisting them with their inquiries and requests.

When not actively monitoring systems or assisting users, your role will involve upgrading and deploying applications, conducting research and development on emerging technologies and services within Openstack, as well as reviewing and enhancing existing documentation for clarity and usability.


Security Clearance:

An active Top Secret clearance is required, with the capability to obtain SCI access and a willingness to undergo a CI Polygraph. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

As a Systems Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing daily operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for intricate operating systems, workstations, and servers.
  • Coordinating and executing complex software installations, upgrades, and patches for operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Troubleshooting intricate issues that arise between hardware and software components.
  • Scheduling installations and upgrades while ensuring compliance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing multiple systems to achieve peak performance.
  • Ensuring data integrity on workstations and servers by evaluating, implementing, and managing suitable software and hardware solutions.
  • Planning and executing server modernization initiatives.
  • Implementing and advocating for standard operating procedures and schedules.
  • Conducting hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure adherence to established standards and guidelines.

Infrastructure Support:

Your role will also involve providing infrastructure support for the Open Stack environment.


Qualifications:
Linux Expertise:
Familiarity with distributions such as Red Hat, Cent OS, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.

Networking Protocols:
Experience with HAPROXY, DNS, LDAP(S), SMTP, SNMP, SSSD, etc.

Scripting Proficiency:
Knowledge of Shell, Python, Ansible, Regular Expressions, etc.

Storage Solutions:
Experience with Ceph Storage, SANs, etc.

Cloud Technologies:
Familiarity with Openstack, Azure, AWS, VM (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).

Containerization:
Experience with Docker, LXC.

Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Additional Skills:
Database Management:
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, Hadoop DB, etc.

Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as RHCT, RHCSA, A+, Network+, Security+, ITIL Foundations are preferred.
