Educational and Professional Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; advanced education in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Active certification as a Peer Support Specialist in North Carolina.
- A minimum of three years of experience in peer support services, particularly in justice-related or substance use environments.
- Proven experience in supervising or mentoring certified peer support specialists, providing effective guidance, support, and constructive feedback.
- A comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by justice-involved individuals, with a strong commitment to trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices.
Key Responsibilities:
The Peer Support Services Program Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of peer support services within designated regional coordinating entities. This role includes:
- Coordinating the activities of peer support specialists to ensure program effectiveness.
- Creating a nurturing environment for both staff and program participants.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the quality and reach of peer support services.
- Promoting recovery, wellness, and self-empowerment among participants.
