Position Overview

The Sales Associate plays a crucial role in managing the receiving, stocking, and pricing of merchandise while ensuring a clean and organized presentation of products throughout the store.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement:
  • Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively.
  • Proactively assist customers in resolving inquiries.
  • Welcome customers upon entry and thank them upon departure.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor while interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all inquiries and calls.
  • Direct unresolved customer complaints to management.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge and familiarity with store layout.
  • Provide personalized service to enhance customer satisfaction.
Store Management
  • Contribute to a safe and professional work environment.
  • Assist with the receipt, verification, and stocking of merchandise.
  • Help maintain appropriate back stock levels.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor areas.
  • Support the maintenance of an organized sales floor, including promotional displays.
  • Participate in merchandise resets throughout the store.
  • Assist Department Specialists with pricing changes and special orders.
  • Ensure that all signage is current and accurate.
  • Operate equipment safely, following proper training.
  • Communicate any issues to the General Manager for resolution.
  • Share merchandising and sales ideas with management.
  • Attend store meetings regularly.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior retail experience is preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), and climb as needed.
Compensation

$14.50-$16.00 per hour
