Position Summary: This role is accountable for the management, coordination, and reporting of all grant funding activities and the associated personnel. You will ensure adherence to all funder, local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
This position is hybrid remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and submit private and government reports (including budgets, vouchers, and close-out packages), ensuring compliance with all funder requirements.
- Manage all internal financial reports related to public and private grants.
- Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of programmatic needs and operational efficiencies.
- Train and support staff in the preparation and distribution of monthly reconciliation reports; assist the team with follow-up actions as necessary.
- Act as a liaison between the Finance Team and other internal and external departments.
- Prepare and review journal entries and invoices as required; oversee entries and invoices generated by the Back Office team.
- Support the management of payroll allocations related to billing.
- Maintain funder relationships to ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Serve as the primary liaison for funders and provide technical support for compliance audits or financial inquiries.
- Assist in developing strategic plans for Audit & Compliance, identifying potential risks and solutions.
- Identify compliance vulnerabilities and risks; develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Support the implementation of policies and practices to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the selection, discipline, goal-setting, and performance evaluation of assigned staff.
- Communicate all month-end close deadlines and tasks to the Back Office Finance team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or accounting from an accredited institution.
- Experience in a non-profit environment is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant reporting.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with accounting software; familiarity with software system implementation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Commitment to continuous improvement in service quality and alignment with the organization's mission.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
