Job Summary
The Dominican University of California seeks a highly qualified Assistant/Associate Professor to join its College of Health and Natural Sciences, Master of Science Physician Assistant Studies Program. As a member of the faculty, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and evaluating students, serving as a student advisor, and assisting in curriculum development and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement terminal goals and learning objectives for each course of study, including the didactic and clinical phases.
- Coordinate and deliver course content, including lectures and laboratory materials, to meet course objectives.
- Develop and implement evaluation tools to assess student knowledge and understanding of course content.
- Participate in program committees to evaluate and develop curriculum.
- Contribute to the development and achievement of the program's philosophy, goals, and competency-based instructional objectives.
- Assist in identifying core knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for successful completion of board examinations and safe practice.
- Participate in scholarly and research activities, including presentations and publications.
- Perform site visits and evaluations of students on clinical rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Current NCCPA certification if PA
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and 2 years of teaching experience is preferred
- Experience in teaching Anatomy and Physiology preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team with other program and university faculty and colleagues is essential
