This role is an opportunity to become a vital member of our esteemed Division of Neurological Rehabilitation within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at MHS and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). The position plays a crucial role in the clinical and educational objectives of the NIDILRR funded Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System Center.

Clinical Responsibilities: The position encompasses comprehensive SCI management, which includes:

  • Acute inpatient rehabilitation
  • Consultations in acute hospital and skilled nursing settings
  • Office-based evaluations

Academic Responsibilities: This role also involves the education and mentorship of:

  • SCI Medicine fellows
  • PM&R residents
  • CWRU medical students

Qualified candidates will have board certification in PM&R and completed ACGME fellowship training in SCI Medicine (BC/E). Protected time for administrative duties and research is available for eligible individuals. Academic appointments in PM&R will be aligned with experience and qualifications.

About MHS: Affiliated with the prestigious CWRU School of Medicine, MHS features a 550-bed academic medical center recognized as a Level I Trauma and Burn Center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and is Magnet certified for nursing excellence. ACGME training programs include a PM&R residency and fellowships in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, Brain Injury Medicine, and Pain Medicine. The MetroHealth Center for Rehabilitation Research is engaged in pioneering rehabilitation research with over $73 million in extramural funding. The Department of PM&R at CWRU, based at MHS, is currently ranked #2 nationally in NIH funding.
