Overview

Sign-On Bonus Available for Experienced RNs

In alignment with Northern Arizona Healthcare's mission, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the comprehensive management of care for patients and their families. This includes direct patient care, education for patients and families, and planning for discharge. The Registered Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to care that encompasses assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.


Responsibilities

Patient Care
* Evaluates the needs and conditions of assigned patients by collecting pertinent health information.

Identifies desired outcomes, formulates a personalized care plan, and executes the established plan to achieve the expected results.

Monitors patient progress towards outcomes and adjusts diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as necessary.

Enhances patient experience by delivering quality and safe care while upholding patient privacy and treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Regularly assesses patient conditions and modifies care plans accordingly.

Employs aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment while adhering to disinfection, sterilization, and infection control protocols.

Upholds infection prevention standards.

Collaborates effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Assists with procedures as needed (e.g., central line placement, chest tube insertion, imaging studies, intubations, and extubations).


Education
* Engages in fostering a learning environment supported by evidence-based practices and research.

Focuses on personal growth, participating in professional interactions with colleagues and students.

Collaborates with peers and other healthcare providers while participating in ongoing training and educational seminars.

Contributes to the mentoring and education of fellow staff and students.


Compliance/Safety
* Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards impacting patient care and safety, as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Practices in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Maintains current knowledge of state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies relevant to the employee's responsibilities.

Ensures all necessary certifications and/or licenses are current and valid prior to expiration.

Completes all mandatory training and job-specific modules within the designated timeframe.

Maintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, electronic medical record entries, and patient responses.

Responsible for promptly reporting any safety-related incidents through the appropriate channels; participates in all safety training programs; performs duties safely; monitors the work environment for potential safety issues and ensures compliance among colleagues.


Qualifications

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing - Required

Newly hired RNs must enroll in a BSN program within one year of employment and complete it within five years.

Certification & Licensure

Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license - Required

BLS (American Heart Association) - Required

Experience

Prior circulating experience is preferred.

Call Required: Must be able to respond within 20 minutes.
