Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patrons, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Library Operations: Assist with daily library operations, including shelving books, processing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Program Support: Assist with the planning and implementation of library programs, including children's storytime, author talks, and other community events.
  • Collection Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of library collections, including weeding, cataloging, and processing new materials.
  • Technology Support: Assist with the maintenance of library technology, including public access computers, printers, and other equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Library Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a library setting, preferably in a customer service or support role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in library software and technology.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, non-exempt position, working approximately 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, as well as weekends and holidays.
