Job Summary

The Floor Lead is a key member of the Sur La Table team, responsible for driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Floor Lead, you will be the go-to person for customers, providing expert product knowledge and personalized service to ensure a seamless shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive store culture by supporting employee development and training initiatives.
  • Model and enforce customer service standards, ensuring that every customer interaction is exceptional and memorable.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and visual merchandising standards, maintaining a visually appealing store environment that drives sales and engagement.
  • Support sales driving initiatives and create daily agendas to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets.
  • Direct employees to ensure accurate inventory management, merchandise presentations, and visual standards are consistently met.
  • Stay informed about company policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in areas such as sales, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Accurately record time worked and maintain accurate records of employee transactions.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by General Manager or Store Manager.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers, providing clear and concise information and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 3 hours at a time, with frequent movement around the store to coach and direct employees, sell to customers, and retrieve merchandise.
  • Ability to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 35 lbs, with occasional use of ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandise.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to observe employees and customers at different times of the day, week, and year.
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners, and mouse to accomplish work.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
Experience and Required Qualifications
  • 1 year of retail sales and customer service experience, with prior experience as a Sur La Table Sales Associate preferred.
  • 1 year of retail supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Proficient in POS Systems and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • May require Food Handlers Certification.
