Key Responsibilities

The Shelter Advocate will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Providing support and crisis intervention to survivors of human trafficking and modern-day slavery.
  • Assisting with client intake, documenting services provided, conducting room checks, and attending supervision and team meetings.
  • Managing the intake process and moving in for incoming residents.
  • Answering hotline calls, performing client intake, screening new referrals, triaging needs, creating initial action plans, and coordinating with clients, CAST staff, and partners to address emergency needs.
  • Assessing and responding to client crises using a strengths-based approach, documenting all incidents and continuing to monitor resident relations.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Bilingual skills preferred. The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking offers competitive benefits, including medical, life insurance, paid sick/vacation time, a 403(b) plan, and supervision for licensure hours.
