Job Overview

We are currently in search of a Maintenance Mechanic Specialist for a direct hire position on the 2nd shift with a prominent manufacturing organization. In this role, you will oversee the safe and effective operation of manufacturing machinery and support facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and assess mechanical equipment failures, executing necessary corrective measures on a diverse range of production and packaging machinery.
  • Identify and resolve intricate electrical/electronic issues using fundamental troubleshooting methods, digital multimeters, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and servicing equipment components including motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical devices.
  • Install, modify, and repair various facility structures including roofing, flooring, and ductwork.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Lead small-scale projects utilizing external contractor services.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and maintain essential records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, pumps, motors, and meters effectively.
  • Engage in and facilitate small group initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the workshop and work areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year degree in Electrical/Electronics is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong written and mathematical skills.
  • Forklift certification (training will be provided).
  • A minimum of five years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • At least three years of experience with Allen Bradley control circuits and hardware.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in various mechanical skills including welding, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Solid understanding of electronics, Allen Bradley control systems, and electrical mechanical devices.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes for proper sizing of wiring and breakers.
  • Skilled in using digital multimeters and electrical schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret Allen Bradley Micro Logix.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Self-driven work ethic with a focus on preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Capability to understand the operational sequence of all equipment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong performance history.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs., and more with assistance.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours daily.
