The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for generating clinical diagnostic x-ray images as directed by healthcare providers while adhering to established safety and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce high-quality x-ray images of designated anatomical regions as instructed by the physician or radiologist.
- Implement appropriate radiation safety measures.
- Collaborate with hospital or clinic electronic medical records (EMRs) to create and finalize exam orders.
- Engage effectively with other departments to enhance patient and staff experiences.
- Conduct, document, and evaluate quality control data to ensure accuracy and precision in imaging.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning workspaces, and monitoring temperatures in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Exhibit regular attendance, including punctual clocking in and out, with minimal unplanned absences.
- Stay current with clinical competencies and professional knowledge through ongoing education and training on new protocols and equipment.
- Assist in patient transportation as needed.
- Utilize PACS systems for image management and transmission.
- Perform x-ray procedures using portable equipment as required by emergency services.
- Propose process enhancements for improved operational efficiency.
- Uphold and promote the values of the organization.
- Notify relevant personnel regarding departmental supply requirements to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Completion of a JRCERT accredited radiological training program or equivalent.
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Active Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Mammography, CT, MRI, and DEXA accreditation as applicable.
- Ability to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Active listening skills to understand patient needs.
- Capability to mentor and motivate team members.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
