Job Title: Radiology Technologist

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at National Rehabilitation Network.

The ideal candidate will possess the skills necessary to operate conventional, fluoroscopic, and diagnostic radiology equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures and obtain routine radiographs of designated body areas according to physician specification and radiographic protocols.

As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, explaining procedures, and correlating clinical history. You will also be responsible for properly positioning patients for X-ray exams, fluoroscopy procedures, and adjusting immobilization devices and affixing appropriate radiation shielding.

Additionally, you will maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition, ensure that the exam room contains the proper supplies for diagnostic procedures, and recognize equipment limitations and malfunctions, ensuring proper equipment function and inspections, and reporting failures to the Manager.

You will also follow department radiation safety procedures and protections in accordance with safety standards for patients and staff, calculate and select proper technical factors, process and check the quality of images before sending to PACS, and enter data into the Radiology Information System for medical records, billing, statistics, and quality assurance purposes.

Qualifications for this position include an Associate degree in a related field, formal education in an American Medical Association accredited Radiologic Technology Program, and knowledge of the administration of radiologic examinations acquired through completion of an associate degree or one to three years formal training in an American medical association accredited radiologic technology program.

Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years prior experience as a radiology imaging technician or diagnostic imaging specialist, ARRT, and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) within 90 days. Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.

This position has a hiring range of $48.99.
