Senior Python Engineer with PySpark Expertise

We are in search of a Senior Python Engineer with expertise in PySpark.

Location: Remote

Our Mission

We are looking for a seasoned Python Engineer who possesses a solid foundation in PySpark to enhance our data engineering capabilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of large-scale data processing, proficiency in Apache Spark, and a proven history of Python development. Your role will involve crafting scalable data processing and analytical solutions within a cloud framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and sustain scalable data processing frameworks utilizing PySpark.
  • Create high-efficiency algorithms, predictive models, and prototype solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to convert data into actionable insights.
  • Produce reusable, testable, and efficient Python code.
  • Enhance data retrieval processes, and generate dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
  • Implement data ingestion, cleansing, deduplication, and consolidation methodologies.
  • Utilize cloud-based big data services and architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for handling extensive datasets.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to define and refine data and analytics specifications.
  • Ensure systems align with business needs and adhere to industry standards for security and privacy.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in big data technologies and PySpark developments.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Python development.
  • Strong background with Apache Spark and its components (Spark SQL, Streaming, MLlib, GraphX) using PySpark.
  • Proven ability to craft efficient, complex queries against large datasets.
  • Understanding of data warehousing principles and data modeling concepts.
  • Proficient in distributed computing principles.
  • Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), including their big data processing services.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with additional big data tools such as Hadoop, Kafka, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and libraries.
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio showcasing relevant work.
