Job Summary

Covenant Health (Tennessee) is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing high-complexity clinical laboratory tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-complexity tests, including routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results
  • Document all corrective actions taken when the test process deviates from established performance specifications
  • Perform proficiency testing samples and maintain records demonstrating proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control policies, document all control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or notify the Technical Specialist or Laboratory Manager if the problem cannot be resolved

Requirements:

  • Current Tennessee State License as a Medical Technologist
  • Must successfully pass color blindness test
