Position Overview:
As an Information Assurance Security Engineer at Network and Data Solutions Integrators (NDSI), you will play a crucial role in safeguarding critical information systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that security measures are integrated into the IT infrastructure from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and draft comprehensive information security policies.
- Conduct thorough reviews of Memorandum of Agreements and manage the Certification and Accreditation processes.
- Provide expert advice on system design and architecture to enhance information security.
- Oversee multi-agency information sharing while ensuring robust security integration.
- Engage with high-level personnel across various agencies to maintain strong affiliations in the field of Information Security.
- Handle incident response, system access approvals, and audit log reviews, while consulting on a wide range of security issues.
- Document and investigate security incidents, and assist in the development of corrective measures.
Unique Requirements:
- Proficient knowledge of ICD 503 and familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure/AWS solutions.
- Possession of IAM II certification as per DOD 8570.1M guidelines.
- Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and how to meet system security requirements.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work collaboratively with IT teams to ensure security is a priority in system development. Engage with developers, system engineers, project managers, and users to determine necessary protection levels for systems.
Compliance and Training:
- Act as the representative for the Information System Security Manager, ensuring adherence to IS security protocols.
- Support the operation, maintenance, and disposal of information system materials in line with security policies.
- Generate and implement security training programs to enhance user awareness of responsibilities.
Technical Skills:
- Perform Operations & Sustainment (O&S) functions for network security infrastructure.
- Conduct maintenance and advanced configuration of security equipment to mitigate cyber threats.
- Utilize security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and Carbon Black for effective monitoring.
- Conduct forensic analysis to troubleshoot issues and respond to alerts.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, coupled with 10-15 years of relevant experience in data security administration, is required. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in system administration, network engineering, and information security systems design.
