Job Title: Classroom Teacher Long Term Substitute

Job Summary:
Central Catholic School is seeking a qualified substitute teacher to fill a long-term position in our middle school ELA department. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. The substitute teacher will be responsible for providing classroom coverage for a teacher who is absent for an extended period of time, supervising students, managing classroom behavior, and other assigned duties. The long-term substitute will work the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during their absence.

Responsibilities:
Follow the curriculum and instructions provided by the regular teacher while performing supervision and classroom management.
Work as a team/partner with other classroom teachers.
Maintain confidential information about students' developmental assessments, individual goals, and observations of progress toward meeting goals.
Supervise small group supplemental scholar programming.
Collect and compile data that demonstrates growth relating to scholar instruction.
Help supervise school events, field trips, and other school-related activities.
Work with and maintain good relationships with children, parents, and parish groups and volunteers.
Other duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of the School/Parish/Agency.
Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
Model the mission and values of Central Catholic.

Requirements:
Must be able to understand and comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct.
Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training.
Background screening required.
High School Diploma.
Valid driver's license required.

Working Environment:
School-setting including exposure to loud noises, moderate to high levels of stress, exposure to weather conditions to provide needed outdoor supervision.
Physical demands, as applies: Bending/stooping/stretching/climbing/walking/standing/sitting/lifting 5 lbs., Occasionally.
