Role Overview:

We are in search of a meticulous and skilled HVAC Cost Estimator. This role involves the precise preparation of project estimates utilizing Quick Pen software, ensuring that bids accurately reflect the project scope, requirements, and compliance with NC Plumbing and/or Mechanical Piping codes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ Quick Bid software to generate comprehensive project estimates and assist in the final bid compilation.
  • Engage with clients to clarify bid scopes and respond to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to gather pricing for fixtures, equipment, and materials.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of NC Plumbing and/or Mechanical Piping codes in all estimations.
  • Interpret project specifications and plans, effectively communicating requirements to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of vendor/subcontractor scopes and review takeoffs prior to bid submission.
  • Analyze project specifications, plans, and addenda to grasp project intent for bid planning.
  • Evaluate project scope, schedule, site conditions, client requirements, general conditions, bid forms, plan notes, and equipment schedules to determine precise project costs.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of current NC Mechanical/Plumbing Code.
  • Several years of experience in construction estimating; field experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, showcasing strong initiative and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring accuracy and completeness in all estimates.
  • Must uphold regular attendance and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
