Estimator Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team at KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately preparing project estimates using Quick Pen software, ensuring bids reflect project scope, requirements, and compliance with NC Plumbing and/or Mechanical Piping codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Quick Bid software to prepare detailed project estimates and assist in final bid preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to clarify bid scopes and address inquiries.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing for fixtures, equipment, and materials.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of NC Plumbing and/or Mechanical Piping codes in all estimates.
  • Interpret project specifications and plans, conveying requirements to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of vendor/subcontractor scopes and review takeoffs prior to bid submission.
  • Plan bids by comprehensively analyzing project specifications, plans, and addenda to understand project intent.
  • Consider project scope, schedule, job site conditions, client requirements, general conditions, bid forms, plan notes, and equipment schedules to establish accurate project costs.
Requirements:
  • Thorough understanding of current NC Mechanical/Plumbing Code.
  • Several years of experience in construction estimating; field experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong initiative and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in all estimates.
  • Must maintain regular attendance and professional appearance at all times.
