Ascension Health Sleep Disorder Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Sleep Disorder Specialist to join our team at Ascension Seton in Austin, Texas.

About the Role

This is a rewarding career opportunity that involves performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies. You will be responsible for preparing patients and equipment for ordered testing, interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder issues, and explaining testing procedures.

You will also perform and document testing, monitor patients throughout the testing process, and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. Additionally, you will collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs, score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies.

Your expertise in preparing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining equipment required for testing will be essential in determining and reporting needed repairs or replacements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or an Associate's degree/Technical degree. Alternatively, you can have 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

One or more of the following certifications are required:

  • BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross obtained within 1 month of hire date.
  • Certified Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
  • Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
  • Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET).
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • RRT Sleep Disorder Specialist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is between $65,000 and $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications, education, and experience.
