Position Overview

This position is pivotal in representing Corporate Security and making informed decisions regarding various security technology matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and deployment of physical security systems, which encompass video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection technologies.
  • Manage the administration and upkeep of corporate security systems, including setup requests, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and verification of system components.
  • Document performance tests for critical infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide support to Corporate Security staff during investigations and offer guidance to contract security personnel on technology-related issues.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure that physical security systems align with organizational needs.
  • Oversee technology projects, including scheduling tests, maintenance, upgrades, and installations of security technology equipment, coordinating with IT and Facilities teams as necessary.
  • Review design plans to ensure adequate security coverage across all systems.
  • Ensure compliance with testing methods and record-keeping standards.
  • Provide technical support for all physical security systems and manage vendor relationships.
  • Implement a maintenance program for security technology to guarantee the availability of critical systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of corporate physical security technology systems, including programming and networking configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations related to security technology systems.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, standards, and regulations concerning physical security technology.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to enhance physical security systems.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in security technology.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Profound understanding of NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) is preferred.
  • Strong grasp of various network configurations (LAN, WAN, etc.).
  • Proficient in programming and configuring access control and video management systems.
  • Familiarity with camera configurations, including codecs and bitrate.
  • Solid understanding of relay-based logic applications in access control.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to utilize various software programs related to physical security systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, effective communication skills, and self-motivation.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in technical security systems.
  • Experience with Genetec access control systems is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license is required.
