About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at iA American Warranty Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Controller/Assistant Controller and Senior Tax Accountant in the completion of the Company tax provision process, as well as the preparation and completion of financial reports to internal management, the parent company, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare consolidated and corporate federal income tax returns as delegated/assigned by the Tax Accountant.
  • Assist in preparing state income tax, premium tax, Texas sales tax, and property tax returns as delegated/assigned by the Tax and/or Premium Tax Accountant.
  • Prepare annual and quarterly statutory financial statements for assigned insurance companies.
  • Process reinsurance activity and accounting for assigned business in accordance with treaty specifications.
  • Handle correspondence received from state insurance departments and attorneys.
  • Maintain and/or develop Access programs to automate job functions (based on expertise).
  • Cooperate with the Company's external auditors and examiners.
  • Participate in analytical projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Advanced PC skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Access.
  • Previous experience in statutory insurance and tax accounting is a plus.
