As a Pharmacy Intern Grad at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacies. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Customer Experience:- Engage with customers and patients, providing assistance with products and services, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Develop strong relationships with customers by anticipating their needs and proactively offering services.
- Support efforts to enhance customer experience by increasing focus on healthcare services, such as patient consultation, medication management, and retail, clinical, or wellness services.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications, and refer to medical providers as needed.
- Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training.
- Reinforce the direction of the Pharmacy Manager in staff performance by coaching, providing constructive feedback, and monitoring customer service.
- Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations, monitoring progress, and fostering a shared vision.
- Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare by reading pharmacy-related journals, company publications, and communications.
- Obtain necessary certifications, education credits, and training as required by the Company.
- Seek professional development by monitoring performance, soliciting constructive feedback, and leveraging the Pharmacy Manager and Store Manager as mentors and coaches.
Requirements:
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
- Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
- Certified Immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
