Job Description

As a highly skilled Information Specialist III, you will play a critical role in shaping the agency's communications strategy and implementing a plan to regularly update stakeholders on operations and new projects. Your expertise in creating and disseminating information will be essential in maintaining the agency's reputation and promoting its goals and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to effectively engage stakeholders and promote the agency's mission.
• Create and edit content for the agency's social media accounts, quarterly newsletter, and other communication channels.
• Serve as a liaison between the agency and the media, responding to inquiries and providing information as needed.
• Develop and maintain informational materials to update stakeholder groups and the Texas Legislature on agency operations.
• Assist in planning and coordinating the annual Texas Peace Officers' Memorial ceremony and the annual State of Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Awards ceremony.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms and their applications in communications.
