Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Architect to join our Commerce Payments Technology team at JPMorgan Chase. As a Principal Architect, you will play a key role in driving the development and adoption of cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies.

As a member of our team, you will provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. You will leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.

We are looking for someone who is customer-obsessed, has a strong passion to be part of a "start-up" effort in a large company, and a desire to be on the forefront of digital payments and technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
  • Create Architecture Solutions for digital wallet product initiatives
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert
  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design and application development in digital wallet product initiatives, such as Apple or Google Pay
  • Deep knowledge in one or more software, applications, and architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
  • Understanding of the business
  • Practical cloud native experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS experience or certification
  • Domain knowledge of Payments or Tokenization
