About the Role

We're looking for a protocol engineer to join our team and help set the foundations of the company. As a protocol engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining all the systems that touch the Lumino protocol and node, including blockchain systems, cryptoeconomic mechanisms, decentralized networking, and proof generation and verification.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain the Lumino protocol and node
  • Develop and test blockchain protocols and smart contracts
  • Build, test, debug, and deploy large-scale decentralized systems across thousands of nodes
  • Lead the process for internal and external smart contract audits
  • Own projects end-to-end, from requirements, scoping, design, to implementation, in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment
Requirements
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience in building low-level protocols
  • Strong knowledge of blockchain, smart contracts, and consensus algorithms
  • Experience in Rust or Go
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Write high-quality and well-tested code
  • Experience working with a cloud-native tech stack (e.g AWS/GCP)
Nice to Haves
  • Previous experience in a startup environment
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Previously built a L1 or L2 blockchain
