SpaceX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Electric Propulsion Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our propulsion systems team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and analyzing electric propulsion systems for our spacecraft.
Responsibilities:- Design and develop electric propulsion systems for our spacecraft, including thrusters, power systems, and control systems.
- Test and analyze electric propulsion systems to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electric propulsion systems with other spacecraft systems.
- Develop and implement design and testing methodologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of electric propulsion systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in designing, testing, and analyzing electric propulsion systems.
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Deep understanding of vacuum chamber operations, thermodynamics, structural design, electromagnetism, plasma physics, and materials properties.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and Matlab.
- Ability to work in a highly cross-functional role and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Competitive salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 per year.
- 10% differential for those with an active clearance.
