Job Summary:

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our team. As a key member of our Shipping and Receiving Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods and materials within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and package items for domestic and international shipping, including proper labeling and customs declarations.
  • Receive deliveries from off-site vendors and inspect items for visible damage.
  • Electronically capture and scan all in-bound shipments.
  • Deliver in-bound shipments to customers on SLAC's site and offsite.
  • Operate a forklift, delivery trucks, and other mechanical devices for the movement and delivery of shipments.

Requirements:

  • High School equivalency and 1 year of delivery or related work experience.
  • Ability to wrap packages for shipping according to established procedures.
  • Must be able to understand and follow administrative and operational procedures.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Functional familiarity with PeopleSoft (eProcurement) strongly desired.

Employment Duration: Regular Continuing

This position is represented by SEIU Local 2007 and the collective bargaining agreement between the university and SEIU Local 2007 governs the terms and conditions of employment.

The expected pay range for this position is $34.34 (Step 1) - $41.53 (Step 10) per hour. Placement in the range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Unit.

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
