Care for the Elderly with Compassion and Expertise

Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our 6D Geriatric Psych Unit. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to patients aged 55 and older, helping them achieve healthier and more productive lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of any disturbances of thought, feelings, mood, behavior, and co-morbidities.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs to ensure a smooth transition to home or further care.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, or military RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
