Your Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineer in Training to join our Community Development Group in multiple locations throughout the Midwest. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, including the design of highways and local roads, public utilities, and public works. You will collaborate with design teams to develop construction plans and specifications, prepare reports and studies, and perform field observations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform civil design and technical tasks on projects under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project.
  • Perform field work/construction observation under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer and/or construction manager.
  • Perform data analysis and calculations to analyze and design civil system components.
  • Collect data and gather information to support design decisions.
  • Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written, with project team members, clients, and contractors.
Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated individual who is enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, organized, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. A basic understanding of general concepts of civil engineering design is required. Ability and interest in working on a variety of renewables (solar, wind, etc.) type of projects for various clients is a plus. Desire to work on projects with a focus on sustainability and green infrastructure is also a plus. Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought is essential.
