Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Health Assessments: Conduct age-appropriate health assessments using relevant tools and methodologies to identify the child's needs and develop a suitable plan of care.
  • Collaboration with Families: Work closely with the child's family and caregivers to implement, evaluate, and modify care plans as necessary.
  • Nursing Treatments and Tests: Perform nursing treatments and tests, including wound care, infusions, medication administration, venipuncture, and tube feedings, under physician orders.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately record all pertinent data in accordance with facility information systems and protocols.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment, at least one year of experience as a Pediatric RN within the last five years, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification covering infants, children, and adults.
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills, valid driver's license (if applicable), and the ability to meet applicable health requirements for patient care.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Work Settings: Clinics, schools, hospitals, doctor's offices, or occupational settings providing daycare for children.
  • Physical Capabilities: Stretching, reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Exposure to Communicable Diseases: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially infectious or hazardous materials requires extensive safety precautions and protective equipment.
