Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be instrumental in executing safety initiatives and providing training for personnel engaged in diverse projects. This role encompasses responsibilities across multiple regions, ensuring that safety protocols are effectively implemented and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold safety policies and procedures at job sites and fabrication facilities.
- Conduct thorough site safety evaluations and document findings.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation focused on safety practices.
- Deliver live training sessions for Competent Persons on critical safety topics such as Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Excavation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety programs and policies throughout all operations.
- Conduct investigations into accidents and incidents.
- Promote a culture of safety through effective coaching and mentorship.
- Be present during high-risk operations to ensure safety compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in construction safety management, particularly for large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 5 years of safety-related experience.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, email).
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- OSHA 500 Certification preferred, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- First Aid/CPR certification is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills with the Company Loss Control Team.
