PITT OHIO is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Richmond, VA Terminal. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing fleet equipment, conducting failure analysis, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair fleet equipment safely and correctly
- Conduct failure analysis and repair fleet equipment components correctly
- Inform management about housekeeping opportunities and suggest corrective actions
- Identify and inform management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs
- Complete work orders and document repairs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Comply with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Two years' verifiable experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree
- A valid state-issued driver's license
- Must pass DOT physical and drug screen
- CDL, ASE, and State and/or Federal inspection certification preferred
- Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in repair and maintenance of heavy trucks and semi-trailers
Working Conditions:
- Travel may be required
- Must be able to work a varied schedule based on need
- Overtime may be necessary during peak periods
Physical Requirements:
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Subject to both internal and external environmental conditions
