Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Architect to join our team as a Senior Design Director - Commercial Buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project design, excellent communication skills, and experience working in a Design/Build environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain lead planning and design phase of project consistent with project development schedule
  • Stay abreast of the latest code changes and communicate as needed
  • Provide effective design solutions for clients
  • Perform preliminary and final code reviews
  • Multi task and prioritize projects as needed
  • Continually refresh and update job knowledge
  • Accompany Business Development on client meetings
  • Perform building program
  • Produce preliminary, schematic design and construction documents
  • Coordinate designs
    • Structural
    • Civil
    • MEP
  • Responsible for construction document quality control on assigned projects
  • Periodic travel throughout the Midwest, for limited periods of time
Requirements:
  • Must be a registered Architect
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in Design Build environment
  • Computer skills are required to maintain written communication with clients and co-workers (MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook)
  • Understand project cost
