Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and compassionate RN Infusion to provide high-quality patient care in our infusion center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide professional nursing care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation.
- Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care and serving as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
- Obtain patient consent for care, ensure patient confidentiality, and document health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications, monitor and document treatment progress, and refer to/consult with physicians and other health providers as needed.
- Document patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms and documentation practices.
- Maintain patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, and post test and examination results.
- Respond to incoming patient treatment-related phone calls and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Administer medications, coordinate treatment plans, schedule follow-up appointments, and collaborate with the GIA Research department as required.
- RN degree from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Minimum 3 years professional nursing experience; minimum 1 year infusion experience in acute, outpatient, home, and/or physician office settings; gastroenterology experience preferred.
- Current state registered nurse license; current CPR certificate; CRNI certification preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, structure, and functions; community resources; health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
- Understanding of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, INS standards of nursing practice, and GIA policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in obtaining and maintaining intravenous access through peripheral IV catheter insertions and/or central venous access devices.
- Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state HIPAA laws related to release of health care information.
- Knowledge of common OSHA safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Skill and knowledge in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
- Skill in time management, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritizing, and medical care coordination.
- Skill in verbal and written communication, initiating crisis interventions, and emergency response.
- Skill in patient triage, preparing/maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
- Ability to analyze options, counsel patients and families, and make referrals to other providers and resources.
- Ability to read and interpret physicians' orders and notes from other providers.
- Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages and injections and measure results.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
