Job Overview

Medix Infusion is seeking a skilled PRN Infusion Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in our Cityview, TX clinic. As a licensed Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for initiating and managing intravenous (IV) therapy, administering injections, and documenting patient care accurately.

This is an onsite, PRN Infusion Nurse opportunity at our clinic, working as part of a small team with minimal supervision. You will be expected to ensure the appropriateness of prescribed therapies and uphold the highest standards of safety in medication administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient consultations and review health histories to ensure accurate care.
  • Confirm the suitability of prescribed therapies and perform necessary assessments to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide patient education and ongoing care information to promote health and well-being.
  • Administer IV therapies, injections, and manage central and peripheral lines with precision and care.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and prepare medications as required to prevent contamination and ensure efficacy.
  • Document patient care, including lab results and changes in condition, to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Communicate with referring providers about patient care and therapy tolerance to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Oversee Medical Assistants, ensuring safe and high-quality care, and monitor inventory and manage medication orders to prevent errors.
  • Ensure equipment is safe and functioning properly to prevent accidents and ensure patient safety.
  • Adhere to professional, ethical, and cultural sensitivity standards to provide compassionate care.
Requirements
  • Active LPN/LVN or RN license with 1-3 years of hands-on clinical experience.
  • Valid nursing license with all necessary credentials and certifications in good standing.
  • Previous experience in IV therapy or infusion specialty is highly preferred.
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care with compassion and professionalism.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to thrive both in a collaborative team environment and as a self-reliant individual contributor.
  • Capable of performing all essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodations.
