Job Overview

The Kitchen Steward / Prep Cook position is an entry-level role that operates under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and its surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Kitchen Steward: Ensure the kitchen and adjacent areas are kept clean and sanitary. Responsibilities include maintaining a cleaning schedule, washing dishes, and sanitizing cooking equipment.
  • Prep Cook: Assist in food preparation and plating. Duties involve preparing ingredients, cleaning prep areas, and ensuring kitchen supplies are adequately stocked.
Essential Duties:
  • Wash and sanitize all kitchenware and store them appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, surfaces, and trash throughout your shift.
  • Support team members in maintaining overall cleanliness.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Ensure proper food storage practices are followed.
  • Change the dishwashing machine every few hours based on operational needs.
  • Break down cardboard boxes for disposal.
  • Participate in weekly deep cleaning activities.
  • Ability to lift and manage weights up to 50 lbs safely.
