Job Description

Nevada State University is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as an adjunct faculty member in the field of Environmental Science. As a part-time instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach in-person courses, including lecture and lab components, and contribute to the academic success of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Environmental Science courses, including lecture and lab components, to undergraduate students.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students, including office hours and advising.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement interdisciplinary courses and programs.
Requirements
  • M.S. or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or Biology at the time of employment.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of due diligence background check and verification of credentials.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of instructional effectiveness at the college/university level.
  • Commitment to active/experiential learning.
  • Experience or interest in developing curriculum at the university level.
