Position Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of all facility systems and equipment. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this position is integral to maintaining the functionality of HVAC systems, structural integrity, and grounds management, either directly or through contracted professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
The core duties of this role encompass:
- Overseeing a team of five maintenance technicians to ensure efficient operations.
- Managing the spare parts and supply inventory through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Employing effective troubleshooting techniques to diagnose equipment issues, conducting root cause analyses, and proposing remediation strategies.
- Maintaining comprehensive maintenance records, including vendor interactions, contractor performance, and project expenditures.
- Collaborating with the purchasing department to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of parts procurement.
- Developing and implementing a robust preventative maintenance program.
- Engaging in capital investment evaluations, improvements, and strategic business planning.
- Participating in team meetings to provide insights on current and future maintenance needs and projects.
- Addressing maintenance requests promptly and executing resolutions in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A strong mechanical aptitude, with a working knowledge of electrical systems being advantageous.
- Experience with maintenance management systems or software.
- A minimum of 7 years in a maintenance role within a production or manufacturing setting, specifically with machinery.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a managerial capacity.
- The ability to think strategically, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and execute plans effectively.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for contractor management, including occasional week-long trips and bi-monthly day trips.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
- Current knowledge of safety practices and a readiness to undergo company-sponsored training upon hire.
Additional Information:
This position is classified as exempt and may require evening and weekend work as necessary. The target compensation for this role is $110,000, commensurate with experience. Dowa offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
