Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Holiday Station Stores - Workday. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail stores, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide and coach store staff to deliver outstanding customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
  • Facility Condition: Maintain awareness of the overall store facility's condition, notify the Store Manager of any equipment failure or maintenance/supply needs, and perform or direct store staff to perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Merchandising: Monitor and ensure that product areas are stocked, rotated, and displayed to ensure freshness, appeal, and easy customer access.
  • Sales Controls: Ensure all shift sales are completed in accordance with Company policies by entering and coaching store employees to enter all transactions at the time of purchase at the correct price using the correct keys/codes.
  • Financial Controls: Keep accurate cash, sales, payroll, and inventory control records and accounts for variances.
  • Staffing Controls: Oversees the activities of store employees as directed by the Store Manager, performs shift supervision, and assumes Store Manager responsibilities when needed.
  • Security Controls: Assists the Store Manager in maintaining a safe environment for employees and customers and protecting Company assets.
  • Administrative Controls: Prepares or assists in the preparation of periodic sales, product, and operating reports as directed by the Store Manager.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months to 1 year of retail and management work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles, including planning and organizing, resource management, and leadership skills.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to deal with customers, unanticipated problems, or events using standard procedures.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform essential duties, including standing and/or walking for an entire shift, and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
  • Work Environment: Perform approximately 95% of all work indoors, but will be required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
