Shipwright

AMP United LLC is seeking an experienced Shipwright to join our team in Kittery, ME. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in abrasive blasting and must possess SSSPC C7 or SSPC CAS certification or an approved equivalent.

• Performing abrasive blasting operations on marine vessels and structures according to specifications and quality standards.
• Preparing surfaces for coating by cleaning, sandblasting, and removing old paint and corrosion.
• Operating and maintaining abrasive blasting equipment and ensuring its safe and efficient use.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including those related to the use of personal protective equipment such as respirators.
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Additional duties may include assisting with coating applications and surface preparation as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in abrasive blasting.
• SSSPC C7 or SSPC CAS certification or an approved equivalent is required.
• Ability to wear a respirator and comply with respiratory protection requirements.
• SSPC C3 certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
