Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Waterview Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working closely with our Physical Therapist to develop and implement effective physical therapy programs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation of residents who have experienced a decrease in functions.
  • Work under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care.
  • Perform treatment programs for assigned residents, including exercises, stretches, and other physical therapy interventions.
  • Enter billing information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Report resident progress in meetings, as required or appropriate.
  • Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to coordinate physical therapy with other therapeutic activities.
  • Provide residents with equipment as appropriate.
  • Chart notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the therapy provided to the residents, as well as the resident's response to the therapy.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Licensed in NY State as a Physical Therapist Assistant; license in good standing.
  • Previous skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and harmoniously with all staff.
  • Sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally with residents, families, and staff.
  • Treat residents and fellow staff with respect, dignity, and compassion.
