UCLA Extension is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Assistant Dean, External Relations. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the university's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a major gifts strategy to secure funding for UCLA Extension programs and initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and corporate partners.
- Collaborate with the dean and other university leaders to advance the university's strategic priorities.
- Manage a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan, including annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving.
- Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, external relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in soliciting major gifts and/or prior experience with solicitations of a similar nature, level, and complexity.
- Expert knowledge of principles and practices of major gift fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement a comprehensive development or similar program of comparable size and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area.
This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed. Some travel is required.
